These are Jesus' words to the disciples that we hear from the Gospel of Matthew 5:13-16. 

As children of God we are all called to be the salt and light of the earth.  Both salt and light have transformative properties.  They can be life-giving when we use these elements (traits) in ways that are pleasing to God as the hands and feet of Jesus the Christ on earth.  Are ya feeling salty?  Are you longing for more life-giving flavor in your life?  Are you looking for a faith community to shine your light with?

 Have you been journeying through this world in the shadows of darkness?
